Another "Break"

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted! Dang. Okay, this project is NOT dead. I repeat, it is NOT dead. I'm just really bad about posting on this blog. Episode 1 is FINISHED! I am merely fixing continuity errors, typos and such. Then we get the casting call! :D

Okay, so, episode 1 is done, casting call is coming? What else....? Oh yeah! Writing on Episode 2 has begun! This one will be a kind of "LOST" episode, in the sense that flashbacks of the background of the Orion are going to be heard.

Okay, so I think that's it. Be on the lookout for new news, and that casting call. I will also be posting it as an email on the Pendant Audio Yahoo Group, so if you are subscribed there, you'll get the casting call. :) That's it, and if you'll excuse me, I have tons of other projects that I need to finish before school starts. >_<

Wow...

Been since May since I posted? Wow. Okay. Episode 1 is coming! I've pretty much completed it and am transferring it to my MacBook. Once I do that, a casting call will be posted while I start writing Episode 2. So, yeah, be on the look out. Once a casting call is posted, and the first episode comes out, I'll probably start a Yahoo group or something or another.... yeah.... No, I'm not stealing Pendant's idea. Get off my back, you... you.... you you! Get off and stay off!

Writing

I'm writing, writing, writing.... Writing more of Episode 1. I think I'm getting close to finishing the rough draft. I'll let my sister take a look at it, cause she writes screenplays and stuff, and try to get all the kinks out of it.

Episode 1?

So, I did a read through of what I had for episode one, and it only came out to about ten minutes of audio. >_< So, I have to figure out a way to progress the story without really progressing the story, you know? I have a bad habit of rushing the story. I figure I can add some background story to it somehow, but I'm at a bit of a blank right now. I'm sure I'll figure something out eventually. ;)

What?

What? 5 days since my last post? What is wrong with me? But I have a good reason. I'm almost finished with the first draft of Episode 1. :D I just have, like, one or two more scenes. I don't think it's as long as I want it to be, but, like I said, it's the first draft. Other than that, not really that much happening....

Again....

..... not much...... Started writing the next scene of Episode 1. Haven't started converting it to my Mac. Probably will later today. Also, please try to tell people about this project. The more that people know about this, the more popular it could become.

Friday, May 2, 2008

Well....

Not much happening. Finished another scene. Yeah... That's about it. Did some brainstorming about where the overall plot should go. Yeah. Not much happening. Haven't started transferring the script to my Mac. Will do soon. That's it.

I hate Wide Ruled....

So, according to what I have written on paper, I have 9 pages. But, that number is most likely to decrease when I transfer it to Celtx. And it should decrease even more because of the fact that I'm writing on Wide Ruled paper. So, I probably have 3 or 4 real computer pages done. Fun. That's why I hate Wide Ruled. You can't fit as much onto a page, and as a result, it throws off your calculation of how many pages you have.

And, while writing this, I put in Quark, and Quark's bar, into a scene, cause, when we join the crew, they're getting back from.... something..... and are docked as DS9 for repairs. It was when writing these scenes I realized how good of a Ferengi I can do. :P I'll do some comparisons with Quark, and see how much I sound in comparison to him.

So, that about rounds out this day. I'm REALLY EXCITED with how much is being written, and how fast it's being written. The overall plot isn't done, but it's far enough along for me to have started writing this. Boy, have I got some great twists and turns planned! It should be awesome!

And as progress is made, be on the look out for promotional stuff, like, trailers, posters, maybe even some clippings of text from the actual script. I dunno. Really depends on what mood I'm in. :P But, yeah, that's about it. I'd better get back to my homework before my parents find me typing this. Yeah.

It has begun!

I am VERY pleased to announce that script writing for Episode 1 HAS BEGUN! I've completely sorted out the mission of the Orion, and, now, I'm writing the first script. And it's coming along well. I love how it's coming along, and can't wait to finish it to start on Episode 2 and start the casting calls.

No MIDAS

Okay, the whole MIDAS array won't work, so I need another idea.... I have church today, and the whole idea for this thing came to me at church, so I'm hoping that an idea will come to me at church.

MIDAS

I think I've fixed the continuity error, but I just need a little more information, mainly about the MIDAS array, and mainly about how big it is. If you have that information, or if you know where I can find it (Not Memory-Alpha. I checked there), please let me know, preferable in the comments... Thanks!

A little break....

Yeah, just taking a little break. Other things to do, like school. We had to give a sermon in Bible. >_< Anyway, I'm just trying to sort out this continuity error I have to fix. Once it is fixed, things should start moving again.

Continuity

Wow, I just realized I had an error in the script. Turns out the Bajoran Wormhole leads no where near the edge of the Delta Quadrant, so I can't use that as an excuse. I'll have to figure out some other way for Orion to have a mission of getting to the Delta Quadrant....

Work IS being done!

Wow, January? That was the last time I posted? Wow. Anyway, all I can really say is that work is being done! I'm working on a basic plot outline for the entire series/season. It's coming along well, and my brain is teeming with ideas. I'll continue to post here, but school sometimes gets in the way of things. Speaking of that, I need to go to bed to get up for it in the morning.

Voice Actors Needed!

We are currently looking for voice actors. Below are a list of characters. This list will be added to and will be changed, so check back for new positions available. PLEASE NOTE that this project could very well go into 2009 in terms of production. Keep in mind that if you agree to do a voice, you are expected to keep doing that voice, no matter how long this project lasts. That being said, I'll get onto the characters.

- Captain Mason - The captain of the USS Orion. I want an older guy for this.
- Commander Charles Braxton - The XO (Executive Officer, aka First Officer). Not much is known about this guy...
- Lieutenant Parker - Lieutenant assigned to conn. For those who don't understand that, he pilots the Orion. Again, I want an older guy for this.
- Lieutenant Suvok - Vulcan in charge of Engineering. Needs to be an older guy, and someone who is good at talking calmly no matter what the circumstances.
- Lieutenant Commander Jessica Hansen - The woman in charge of Operations on the bridge. I want a 'younger' woman for this.
- Ensign James Doolie - The man in charge of Tactical. Has a short temper. Been in the brig several times since assigned to his first starship. As a result, never been promoted.

Lines:
- Captain Mason - "Red Alert! Charge phasers and raise shields." - Background of Line: The captain has just found out about a threat to the ship and is reacting to it.
- Commander Charles Braxton - "Yes, sir, we are ready. I've prepared the crew for departure." - Background of Line: Beginning of the voyage. Not much excitement going on.
- Lieutenant Parker - "At present speeds, we'll reach Vulcan in 23 minutes." - Background of Line: Again, not that much going on. Pretty normal.
- Lieutenant Suvok - "Logically, we should check the plasma conduits first." - Background of Line: He's a Vulcan. 'Nuff said.
- Lieutenant Commander Jessica Hansen - "Life Support has failed on Decks 3 through 7!" - Background of Line: It's a battle.
- Ensign James Doolie - "Aft torpedo tubes are offline!" - Background of Line: It's a battle.

So, that's it. If you are interested, please email me with your recorded lines at legosjedi@hostbrickmovies.com. Characters are bound to be added and changed, as the script is still in production. With your help, I'm sure this project will do well. Thanks.

Star Trek: Orion

So, what's this whole project about? Well, this started out in 2007 as an idea in my head for a film about a Intrepid-class ship whose captian found something interesting in the database. Later, during NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, November), the idea started to solidify into a novel. However, not much work was done. After listening to some other Star Trek radio dramas, mainly from Pendant Audio and Darker Projects, I felt that this was the direction this project needed to go in. So, now, production on this radio drama has started, and Voice Actors are being looked for. More information on how you can get involved will be posted later.

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to the official Star Trek: Orion blog. Here, we'll be posting all the episodes for the podcast drama, as well as news and announcements for it. So, sit tight. We're in for on heck of a ride!
